Sourdough Pancakes

A fantastic recipe to use up your sourdough starter. Full of energy for those big training session and can be made fully plant based as well, enjoy.

Makes: 6 small pancakes /  Total time: 15  /  Prep time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of white flour
  • 1 cup of milk (can be soy or almond milk)
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp Baking soda
  • 1 tbsp sugur
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 cup of sourdough starter
  • 1 small egg (can leave out)
  • 1 tbsp Vegetable oil

Directions

  1. Put all the ingredients into a mixing bowl and whisk until smooth.
  2. Grease frying pan with butter or preferred oil.
  3. Pour a 1/4 cup of mixture into a medium/high heat frying pan.
  4. After about 2 minutes and when the top starts to bubble then flip over and cook for a further 1-2 minutes
  5. Serve with berries, yogurt and a drizzle of honey or maple syrup.
  6. This is the basic recipe, however, you can experiment with different flours and add your personal twist to it.
