Zone 1EASY 
Blood is circulating with no stress to the body.  You could maintain this pace all day long. 
Zone 2SMOOTH 
 An endurance pace that can be sustained for extended periods of time with no accumulation of fatigue and no muscle soreness the following day. 
Zone 3STRONG  
A pace that is sustainable for an extended period with strong focus.  Breathing rate has raised but you are not breathless.  
Zone 4VERY STRONG  
A pace that can be sustained for a set duration but is uncomfortable and requires very strong focus to maintain form.  
Zone 5HARD  
High intensity efforts for short duration of time.  This will place the body under high stress and is an effort that is prescribed carefully to an athlete’s program.
