Shoulder Stability

The shoulder joint is inherently unstable and requires muscular stability and strength for optimal movement. Be sure to check out the tutorials on the Strength Series if you are unfamiliar with any of the strength exercises.  The following sequence of routines will help retrain the shoulders to move well and will build strength and stability in these key movement patterns.

SHOULDER EXERCISES

The shoulder is an inherently shallow and unstable joint that requires good muscle control to function correctly. This tutorial will take you through a few exercises to help build strong stable shoulders.

STIR THE POT

A fantastic exercise to build dynamic strength and stability in the hips, abdomen and shoulders.

STRENGTH 2

This session focuses on the seated row, the farmers carry and the press up. Start off with a lower weight and modify where needed.

MINI MOVEMENT 5

This session is a quick routine that will challenge shoulder and hip stability. 

MOVEMENT 2

Todays session we will be holding the postures a little longer than normal, working on muscular endurance. 

STRENGTH 5

This routine will challenge shoulder strength and stability. We will cover 3 main movement patterns of the shoulder.
